I would call Bill and see if he has the parts? He has ALOT of gear and his prices are very fair. Infact last time I needed service he gave me a free 604 horn.

When I bought my Model 14's I called Bill first to see if they sell/install the recone kits for Model 14 woofers in case I had any issues down the road. I didn't want to buy a pair of speakers that couldn't be reconed/serviced by GPA. He not only confirmed that they do have the correct recone kit for the Model 14 woofers, but he told me what part number should be stamped on the woofer (or printed on a sticker on the woofer) so that when I went to audition the speakers I could pull the woofers and confirm they are stock Model 14 woofers. BTW, Bill also mentioned they re-foam Model 14 woofers as well. Fortunately, when I auditioned the 14's -- the drivers, cabs, and crossovers were mint and sounded phenomenal and had no problems or v.c. rubs so the woofers haven't needed any repairs......

That particular dealer I have qualms about. He had a 421 posted with a vented front cap. Bad, as it then is vented front and back.

When I informed him it had wrong parts he emailed back "I agree, the cones I use are far superior to the original."

I had a one word reply. Bull.

Guess amateur speaker reconers feel they are smarter than Altec engineers.

Them along with all the clowns who know "how to make them sound better" with their mods. The internet is full of theses self proclaimed audio engineers.
They bore me.
